Have you ever just wanted to stand in the middle of a busy street and yell at the top of your lungs…”Stop the ride, I want to get off!!!” Have you ever looked at the person sitting next to you and just wanted to say, “I think today will be the day it all comes together.” Have you ever got home from work and looked into your children’s eyes and wanted to just tell them the truth and say, “I know you don’t understand this yet, but one day I hope you will. Mommy and daddy have made huge mistakes and that is why we are where we are.”

You probably have, or at least some of you anyway. Things today are in a state of unrest, a state of no one knows what tomorrow will bring. But wasn’t it like that before. I mean before all the yelling, screaming and scaring each other started? You never know what tomorrow will hold, but it just seems like now people don’t want to accept what they did to themselves today!

It’s not like I don’t know what I am talking about. I and my family have made big mistakes. Right now we are just barely hanging on. I don’t want people feeling sorry for me or hand outs. But the difference between me and the rest of the people out there is that I don’t begrudge the ones who do need, want or accept a hand out. I don’t think it has to be an either or situation either. I think it has to be a partnership between the people who are mad and the government they are mad at.

My family didn’t get ourselves into this mess over night, in a week, in a month or even in a year. It took a long time for us to have our eyes open to the amount of stuff that we thought we needed. So do I think we can climb out of it in a day, night, week, month or even a year…probably not. So why do people think that the rest of America or the world for that matter can do it in that amount of time. Just because you think that the hole that you dug is deep and you see no way out. Or that you see your neighbor getting help from someone and think why isn’t that me? Well then ask yourself…Why isn’t that me? Don’t get mad at your neighbor or the person who is helping them. You can have the same help too, you just have to ask.

Now I know that some take advantage of the whole hand out thing, but that has been going on for years. It is nothing new and to make it sound like it just started is a grave misuse of your ability to think. There are always people around who think that the world should move around them. That they shouldn’t have to work for anything they want. But don’t lump the rest of the people, who are truly out there trying to make it work and doing whatever needs to be done in the same group.

So, what are you going to do now? Stay on the path that will lead you to not only dislike the world outside, but your little corner of the world or would you like to look at it through another person’s eyes. If it is the latter then all you have to do is…Get ready, get set…
